The rocky landmark at the south end of the Wenatchee foothills, with sweeping views over the city and the Columbia River. It's a short, steep climb that is especially popular at sunset and during spring wildflower season.

Sage Hills

Wenatchee Foothills · hiking, running, biking, horses

A network of multi-use trails through the foothills. The main Sage Hills Trail runs about 4.5 miles to the Horse Lake Trailhead with roughly 1,300 ft of gain. Foothills trails north of 5th Street close each year from December 1 to April 1 to protect wildlife habitat. Check the Land Trust page for current conditions and trailhead notes.

Apple Capital Loop Trail

Wenatchee & East Wenatchee · paved, multi-use

A 10-mile paved loop along both shores of the Columbia River, connecting riverfront parks in Wenatchee with natural habitat on the East Wenatchee side. With the Rocky Reach Trail it adds up to more than 20 miles of paved path, great for walking, running, skating and cycling.

Wenatchee's local ski area, a scenic drive up from town, known for its sunny days and dry snow. In the off-season it hosts events like the fall Tamarack Festival.

Riverfront parks, boating & fishing

The river is the valley's centerpiece. Chelan PUD runs riverfront parks, including Wenatchee Riverfront Park and Walla Walla Point Park, along with campgrounds such as Wenatchee Confluence and Lincoln Rock State Parks.
